The collagen is re-solubilized and lyophilized. Salt-free. Electrophoresis in 5% SDS polyacrylamide indicates high purity with typical migration of gamma, beta(2), alpha 1 and alpha 2 bands

 

Rat Lung Elastin, RE716
The rat lung elastin is purified by the method of Starcher et al. (3) in which contaminating proteins are removed by mild extraction conditions. This method minimizes peptide bond cleavage. The purity of the elastin is based upon the percent insoluble residue that remains after digestion with porcine elastase. Rat Lung Elastin, EPC No. RE716 contains less than 0.08% insoluble residue after elastolysis. Particle Size: Not milled; ca. 0.5-2 mm pieces.

 

Mouse Lung Elastin Peptides, MLP54
DESCRIPTION.
Prepared by enzymatic hydrolysis of mouse lung elastin (EPC No. ME15) with mouse pancreatic elastase (EPC No. MS838). Residual elastase is removed by affinity chromatography on matrix-bound soy bean trypsin inhibitor. Peptides are dialyzed in 1000 MWCO tubing, passed through a sterile 0.2 micron filter then lyophilized. The peptides are salt-free, soluble in water and biological buffers. Hygroscopic.
