SPECIFICATIONS.Crude.
Approximately 95% soluble, contains ca. 2% salts, Tris pH 7.5 and CaCl2.

 

Store 5° C. Will remain stable 12-24 months at 5°C.

 

Clostripain Activity; <0.5 units per mg of protein. One unit will hydrolyze 1 µmole of N-benzoyl-DL-arginine-pNA (BAPNA) per minute at pH 8.0 and 25° C with 3 mM dithiothreitol.

 

Tryptic Activity; <0.1 units per mg of protein. One unit will hydrolyze 1 µmole of BAPNA per minute at pH 8.3 and 25°C.

 

Protease Activity; 30-40 units per mg of protein. One unit will digest 1 mg azo-albumin at pH 8.3 and 37° C in 60 minutes.

 


<>130 units per mg of protein. One unit will liberate a ninhydrin color equivalent to 1 µmole L-leucine in 5 hours at pH 7.5 at 37° C. The buffer-substrate medium is 5 ml of 0.1 M Tris-HCl pH 7.5 containing 0.01 M CaCl2 and 25 mg collagen ( EPC No. C204).

 

FALGPA ACTIVITY.
1-2 units per mg of protein. One unit will hydrolyze 1 µmole of furanacryloyl-Leu-Gly-Pro-Ala at pH 7.5 and 25° C.

Prepared by modifications of the method of Keller and Mandl (20).
