Prepared from rat lung by pepsin-acid extraction, salt precipitation, re-solubilization in acetic acid and re-precipitated by dialysis against neutral phosphatae buffer. The collagen is re-solubilized and lyophilized. Salt-free. Electrophoresis in 5% SDS polyacryliamide indicates high purity with typical migration, beta (2), alpha1 and alpha2 bands.
