SOURCE Murine Macrophages
SPECIFICATIONS Chromatographically purified, lyophilized, water soluble powder. MW=92000 Store at -20°C. Will remain stable for 6 to 8 months at -20°C.
50-75 units per µgm protein. One unit of MMP-2 will degrade 1 µgm gelatin/hour at 37°C. Murine 92 Kd Gelatinase also known as murine matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMp-9) and gelatinase B is a zinc containing metalloproteinase that hydrolysis gelatin. The 92 Kd protein is expressed as a proenzyme that can be activated by trypsin-like proteases or p-aminophenylmercuric acetate (APMA) to the 84 Kd active metalloproteinase. The product, available in the proenzyme form, is consistent with MMP-2. Prepared by modifications of the method of Banda and Werb, (60,61).
