Pseudomonas aeruginosa Elastase (PAE) is a metalloproteinase that hydrolyses insouble elastin. PAE is isolated from a pathogenic strain of Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Chromatographicall purified, lyophilized, water soluble powder. MW = 33000
Lyophilized from a suspension of crystalls in 1.5 M Ammonium sulfate, 5 mM sodium acetate, 1.0 mM CaCl2 and 0.025 mM ZnCl2, pH 7.0.
Store -20º C. Will remain stable for 6-8 months at -20º C.
ca. 55 units per mg of protein.
One unit of PAE will hydrolyze 1 mg insoluble elalstin fluorescein ( EPC No. ES80) per hour with shaking in a water bath at 37º C.
