Highly purified by salt fractionation and affinity chromatography on Sephadex G100.
MW - 100,000
Salt-free, lyophilized. Highly soluble; greater than 25 mg/ml in water at 25°C.
Activity 1 mg CON A will precipitate* 3 - 4 mg of oyster glycogen in 0.1 M Tris pH 7.5 at 25°C.
Stable for 2 years at 5°C.
*non-precipitated glycogen is determined as reducing sugar(s) with 3,5 dinitrosalisylic acid (52) after digestion with crystalline alpha-amylase (EPC No. A663).
